Treasures Newsletter Vol. 66 Letter
Hello Loyal Friends,
Oh! The Places You Will Go is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books. The inspirational nature of the book speaks to my heart, especially the quote, “So be sure when you step, step with care and great tact. And remember that life’s a great balancing act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed) Kid, you’ll move mountains.” Dr. Seuss holds significant importance in literature. He always emphasized the value of childhood and important moments in childhood tied to imagination, creativity and learning. At the Treasure Chest Foundation, we see the necessity of preserving important moments of childhood for kids who must mature quickly and confront challenges that are often difficult even for adults. Cancer disrupts their childhood, and in that disruption, we aim to restore those precious experiences. Whether it’s family game nights, pretending to be superheroes with action figures or the creativity sparked from playing with playdough or drawing, the Treasure Chest is dedicated to providing joy within those simple childhood moments.
This summer has brought us many wonderful experiences, the most notable being the addition of two new Treasure Chest Programs in Bismarck, ND and Baltimore, MD. With these new hospitals, the Treasure Chest Foundation will bring hope to several hundred additional young cancer patients each month! Thanks to your generosity and support, we can continue to spread joy and comfort to more children across the country. Your contributions help cover shipping costs, provide necessary supplies for sending toys, gift cards for teens and support our dedicated staff at the Treasure Chest Foundation.
As we expand our reach and introduce even more children and teens to the comfort and joy of a Treasure Chest, we kindly ask for your continued support. Whether through toys, gift cards, monetary donations, sharing our mission with friends and businesses or offering your time, every contribution is valued and impactful. I’ll leave you with one final Dr. Seuss quote that speaks to our mission: “Children want the same things we want. To laugh, to be challenged, to be entertained.”
